All CD, SACD, DVD & DVD-A players have unexplored potential. If you own a 'good quality' machine extraordinary gains in sound and picture quality can be made regardless of manufacturer, model or generation of player.

Replacing your CD player (or SACD, etc) for a newer model is likely to prove a costly venture. More importantly, if we examine the costs of a new purchase a relatively small percentage is for the build and parts of the machine.

As an example, if you were to buy a £1000.00 CD player your purchase would consist of the following expenses shown to the right. With these costs deducted, it is
feasible that the actual cost of the machine you are
buying is typically £200.00.

Of course, all manufactures have costs and this has to be accepted. But in almost all cases, 30 - 50% of your allocated budget for a new machine invested in your existing CD, SACD or DVD player will equate to far better sound!

By focusing on 'key areas' of the circuits, picture and sound can be improved. These key areas can be categorised and individually or collectively improved by substituting parts such as electrolytic capacitors, diodes, voltage regulators, master clock oscillator, resistors, film capacitors, operational amplifiers, etc with carefully selected, high grade parts.

The key areas are categorised as follows;

1. Master clock.
2. Clock power supply.
3. Main power supply - analogue.

4. Main power supply - digital.
5. Voltage regulators - analogue
6. Voltage regulators - digital.

7. Capacitor de-coupling - analogue.
8. Capacitor de-coupling - digital.
9. I/V converters.
