Our
modified Wadia 170 is an iPod dock like no other. When hooked up to a high quality
D-A Converter the sound quality is truly stunning. Let me quanlify that...with
lossless files the modified 170 is on par with high-end optical CD transports
(level-2). You would have to spend substantially more than the cost of the
modified Wadia dock on an optical transport to make any substantial gains in sound quality.
Now you
start to see why so many of our customers are switching to lossless music. Now
add yourself a high quality linear power supply and the 170 takes another leap
forwards to sound quality.
The Wadia
170 iTransport have upgrades installed by Audiocom. Please see our main Wadia 170 modification page
to browse the modifications you require, then return to this page to order.
We
are offering three upgraded models, modified with levels 1, 2 or 3, plus the
option of the TeddyDock linear power supply
which utilizes the SuperTeddyReg. The TeddyDock differs from the regular
linear supplies designed for the audio market because it does not use the
industry standard LM317 to provide the 12V regulated DC power. The regulation
in the TeddyDock utilises the discrete SuperTeddyReg which provides a
theoretical ripple rejection of more than 120db over the entire audible
spectrum and above 1MHz. Noise levels are extremely low, with approx. 57db
noise between 1-20 KHz, that’s more than 1000 times quieter than the Wall-Wart
power supply.
